In addition to the project plan videos posted last week, the experiential learning component of the IME program asks the students to create and inform an Integrated Communication Plan (IMC)* for the Streets Alive Organization. Both the 4-videos below, along with a written component for each video, was presented and submitted to Streets Alive for final review last Wednesday.
* IMC is the process of developing and implementing various forms of persuasive communication programs with customers and prospects over time. The goal of IMC is to influence or directly affect the behaviour of the selected audience.
We expect the organization to select one of the four plans by this Friday (December, 11 2020). The plan selected will serve as a foundational start point for the IME students to implement and execute come January 2021 for the Spring Semester!
All students have been given the opportunity to earn an additional course credit for work done on the IMC plan next semester as an Applied Study.
The IME teams have finished off their project pitches for the Street Alive Fundraiser! The project IME students' action will gain money and awareness for this local non-profit organization.
Stay tuned for the winner!
Congratulations to the winning team of the first major case competition of the IME program:
Rylee Frank
Rachael Kabura
Danielah Uzonwa
The team will be moving forward and competing in the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (I.C.B.C.) at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. The Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (I.C.B.C.) is Canada's premier undergraduate business case competition.
Cases come from a variety of sources - some are written by Queen's School of Business faculty, some are written by corporate sponsors and others are acquired through our partnerships with other recognized Business Schools. Students are given a month to complete their analysis after which their cases are sent back to the ICBC executive who distribute the cases to esteemed Queen's School of Business faculty for marking and evaluation.
The team of 3 from The University of Lethbridge are currently wrapping up their case submission to meet the deadline for the following week.
After careful deliberation, the top 6 finalists in each category are selected and invited to compete in the Final Round of the competition in January.
Best of luck to our IME representatives for The University of Lethbridge!
This year has many opportunities for the IME cohort teams of 2020 / 2021.
Meet the students currently located in Lethbridge.
Due to Covid-19, most meetings are hosted virtually— allowing for students outside of Lethbridge to participate in the IMExperience.
So far, the students have toured the up-and-coming Segue Home for Woman presented by The Streets Alive Mission— an invaluable insight into the internal workings of their Mission.
While we were upset to cancel Hurry Hard for Hunger due to COVID-19, we are excited to announce our online silent auction in support of the Interfaith Food Bank. This auction offers a wide variety of items including a signed jersey and a new kids bike! This auction will end on April 1,2020 at 9pm. Place your bids at https://www.32auctions.com/IFBauction2020
It is with heavy hearts that we must announce that the Hurry Hard for Hunger Bonspiel has been cancelled. Due to the guidelines set by the Government of Alberta and the University of Lethbridge about COVID-19, we believe that it is in everyone’s best interest to cancel the event. We will instead be hosting an online auction and still be accepting all donations for the Interfaith Food Bank.
Those who have already bought tickets, will be contacted as soon as possible.
We want to thank all donors and sponsors who are continuing to donate items and funds to the Interfaith Food Bank, your generosity is greatly appreciated!
The IME cohort is happy to announce we will be organizing a full-day curling bonspiel on behalf of the Interfaith Food Bank to raise awareness and funds! The first semester of IME 2019/2020 is completed! This semester all 16 students have worked very hard at various case competitions, classes and the consultations and project presentations for the Interfaith Food Bank.
During the first week of December, the four IME teams presented 4 great fundraising project ideas, A curling bonspiel and silent auction, a gala with a raffle, a dinner night and craft beer competition, and a bus pull event . All presentations can be found on our Facebook page (link found on homepage). It was a tough choice for the board members, with each presentation being so thoroughly planned out, and great potential for each, but we are pleased to announce that the winning fundraiser was the curling bonspiel and silent auction! During this next semester the IME cohort will be working in various teams to plan out a fun day of curling.
The IME team would also like to remind those reading this to remember the less fortunate this holiday season and if possible donate however you can, whether it’s food, money or your time in volunteering, to the Interfaith Food Bank.
Watch out for tickets for the event on this website, our Facebook page, and Instagram page!

Yesterday morning all four teams within the IME cohort presented their recommended integrated management communications consultation to the class as well as the Interfaith Food Bank board team. Each team has spent the last few weeks constructing and prepping for this opportunity., and their hard work was truly shown in the presentations.
All 16 of us have agreed that the IME has been already one of the greatest programs to experience at the University of Lethbridge. We are all also so excited and thankful to be helping and working with the Interfaith Food Bank,
Next week the teams will present again, but will instead be competing for their fundraising event plans!Tune in and follow our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ulethime/) to see videos of the presentations, and even more content!
